A life on the spiritual path

Nepali Baba has devoted his life to spiritual practice and to guiding people toward a more conscious way of living. His teaching centres on self-understanding, devotion, humility and service.

As the spiritual leader associated with Vindhyashram Adhyatmik Sangh, he has inspired the creation of a permanent place where wisdom can be studied, practised and shared freely.

A published record of his early life and work

The Sangh’s English-language booklet identifies Nepali Baba as Pandit Tejnath Sharma. The dates below follow the Bikram Sambat record in that publication.

Birth recorded

The booklet records his birth on 30 Ashadh in Palpa district.

2034 B.S.

Public service

It records the beginning of his public religious and social activities.

2045 B.S.

It records a district-spanning padyatra from Mechi to Mahakali.

District-spanning Nepal padyatra

A Sangh biographical booklet describes a 121-day journey from Mechi to Mahakali through Nepal’s then 75 districts. The red line on the archival map records the route.

Two stages recorded on the archival map

2048 B.S.

Muktinath to Kanyakumari

The first marked stage travels from Muktinath in Nepal to Kanyakumari at India’s southern tip.

2050 B.S.

Kanyakumari to Badri-Kedarnath

The second marked stage travels north via Dwarka toward the sacred Badri-Kedarnath region.
